Welcoming Dr. Sarah Cook
The UC Davis Comparative Pathology Laboratory is pleased to welcome Dr. Sarah Cook, DVM, PhD, DACVP, who has joined CPL full-time as a staff pathologist.
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Sarah Cook to our team. Dr. Cook is a board-certified anatomic pathologist with expertise in comparative pathology, translational research, ocular pathology, and digital pathology.
Dr. Cook earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Washington State University in 2014, followed by a rotating internship in 2015. She completed her anatomic pathology residency at UC Davis in 2018 and subsequently achieved board certification through the American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP). She then continued her training at UC Davis through the Integrative Pathology Graduate Program, where she completed her PhD with a focus on gene therapy strategies and feline infectious diseases.
Her work reflects a strong commitment to collaborative research, with contributions spanning gene therapy, viral pathogenesis, and the histopathologic evaluation of preclinical disease models. She brings particular interest and advanced training in comparative pathology, cardiovascular pathology, and ocular pathology, including fellowship training in ocular pathology.
Having trained at UC Davis through both her residency and doctoral programs, Dr. Cook is excited to continue working with investigators across campus and with external collaborators. She welcomes early consultation to support study design and pathology integration and looks forward to partnering with researchers throughout the life of their projects.
